Lullatone is the comforting Creation of Kentucky native Shawn Seymour and Yoshimi Tomida.  The two first met and became romantically involved in the unlikely location of Louisville, Kentucky, where both were students at Bellarmine University; she an exchange student from Japan.  When Tomida's visa was due to expire, the they moved to Tomida's native Japan, settling down in the city of Nagoya, where Seymour continued to indulge his longtime passion for creating experimental music using computers, simple and compact instruments, and a variety of organic, everyday sounds.  Working primarily at night as Tomida slept, Seymour created the foundation for Lullatone's first release, Computer Recital (2003) - a blissful,hypnotic set of ten repetitive yet highly musical tracks congruent with the Japanese ambient zeitgeist of the early 2000s and recalling the gentler moments of Nobukazu Takemura's Child and Magic, among other releases on Takemura's Childisc label.  The record got some attention from the alternative music press, and the pair followed up with My Petit Melodies (2005) on Childisc, Little Songs about Raindrops (2005), Plays Pajama Pop Pour Vous (2006), and The Bedtime Beat (2007).  Lullatone's sound has morphed with each release, expanding from the largely ambient textures of Computer Recital to include whispery vocals from Tomida, beats, and a more organic vibe, but the lulling, somehow nostalgic vibe is a common thread across all their releases.
