Instruments: Kagurabue (a flute used in Shinto rituals), Kagura (a flute used in Kabuki and Noh)

Immersed in her family’s roots in the traditional sacred dancing of kagura associated with Shinto (the indigenous spirituality of Japan), KOTO began playing the kagurabue, a side-blown flute of kagura, at the age of 5 and shinobue, a high pitched flute used in Kabuki and Noh theater, at the age of 19
